How to obtain the permanent electrical resistivity?

Current Anti-Static Polymers and Their Limitations

Anti-static polymers have been seen as an increasing requirement in the coming years.  This is because the industries venture into more sophisticated electronics segments. There are many kinds of anti-static polymers available in the market. One of such examples are amines. However, these commonly used additives in the plastic industries are generally only able to give 3-6 months of resistivity and its performance become deteriorated because of it being migratory. Also often they result in “hot spots.”

The Solution to attain the Hot Spot-free Permanent Electrical Resistivity

As driven greatly towards innovation, MahaChem has partnered with the world’s leading Single Walled Carbon Nanotubes (SWCNT) producer, OCSiAl, to bring a technology-breakthrough additive to tackle this demand.

Originally, OCSiAl had the SWCNT grades which are only in paste or powder forms. Hence, it has been not that easy for some of the formulators to try out this innovative products.

But recently OCSiAl released a masterbatch grade of SWCNT, TUBALLTM PE Masterbatch, that allows customers to achieve a permanent resistivity of 10^8 ohm/sq, with just 20% dosage of this masterbatch.

Successful Applications

TUBALLTM PE Masterbatch has successfully implemented in the blown film application.
